ReinforcementLoop™ is the core participant engagement process within OperantChamber™.
It is the structured environment through which participants take part in the Operant Engagement Satiation Study™ (OE-SS™)—an experimental arrangement designed to answer a longstanding empirical question:
How does repeated, measurable engagement change when a reinforcing consequence remains available over time?
Each completed ReinforcementLoop™ creates a discrete, measurable unit of participation. Across repeated opportunities to engage, these units form an observable record of participant behavior over time.
The process is intentionally simple.

The science emerges from what participants choose to do next.
What Is a ReinforcementLoop™?
A ReinforcementLoop™ is a single structured cycle of participation.
During a loop, a participant is presented with a defined engagement opportunity, completes the required interaction, confirms completion through OperantSwipe™, and receives the consequence associated with that completed cycle.
Each loop has a clear beginning and a clear end.
That matters because the study is not simply interested in whether someone participates once. It is interested in the pattern of repeated engagement that develops when the opportunity to participate—and the reinforcing consequence associated with participation—remains available.
One completed loop is one observation.
Repeated loops create a behavioral pattern.

The ReinforcementLoop™ Cycle
1. An Opportunity to Engage
The participant begins with an available opportunity to enter the ReinforcementLoop™.
Participation is voluntary. The participant decides whether to begin, whether to complete the current loop, and whether to return for another.
This repeated choice is central to the experimental arrangement.
2. A Defined Engagement Experience
Once a ReinforcementLoop™ begins, the participant enters a structured engagement period.
The experience is designed to create a consistent and measurable participation cycle. Rather than treating activity as an undefined stream of clicks, views, or time spent, ReinforcementLoop™ organizes engagement into distinct behavioral units.
This allows participation to be observed as a sequence of completed cycles.
3. Completion Through OperantSwipe™
At the completion point, the participant uses OperantSwipe™ to confirm the completed interaction.
OperantSwipe™ serves as a deliberate behavioral boundary between simply encountering an engagement opportunity and actively completing a ReinforcementLoop™.
The completed swipe closes the current ReinforcementLoop™.
4. The Reinforcing Consequence
Following validated completion, the participant receives the consequence associated with that ReinforcementLoop™.
Within the study, this consequence is ReinforcementLoot™—the participant-facing reinforcement associated with a successfully completed loop.
The relationship is intentionally clear:
Complete the defined participation cycle → receive the associated reinforcing consequence.
This creates a repeatable contingency that can be observed across time.
5. The Next Choice
After completion, the participant returns to another decision point:
Engage again—or stop.
There is no requirement that every available opportunity be taken.
That decision is part of what the study is designed to observe.
When the same general opportunity remains available repeatedly, how does engagement change?
Does responding continue?
Does it accelerate?
Does it stabilize?
Does it become less frequent?
Does the participant stop—and, if so, when?
